Lifes Ups and Downs & 100th post giveaway

This is my 100th post here on blogger .... I was hoping for more cheerful news to share on this little milestone for me but as the Autumn nights draw in and the central heating goes on I have been reflecting on the year so far.

We have had some highs and lows here at Lala Towers ....... the arrival of three new babies in the family to celebrate, my son's wedding last month and sadly next week we have a funeral to attend.  They do say for every new life that comes into the world another departs so we exchange the new life of our grandson Jack and say goodbye to my husband's sister.  A peaceful end came for her last weekend after almost ten years suffering with vascular dementia and what a destructive and cruel disease it is.

So I hope you don't mind if there are no pretty pictures in this post .... I just don't feel it is appropriate .... however I would like to offer a little 100th blog post birthday giveaway.  I will put together a collection of FQs of fabrics from my stash which will include some Christmas fabrics, Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston and will enter the names of all who kindly leave a comment into a draw.  I will ask one of my grandchildren to pick a name out of the hat at 8.00 pm next Tuesday the 13th October.

Take care all x

  5. Dementia is a very cruel disease, sorry to hear your news, but as you say at least she is at rest now after suffering so long - as hard as it is for those that get left behind.

My crochet hook finally cooled down and the blanket got finished, but I think I'm suffering today - bad head, neck and back! LOL

  8. Sorry to hear your sad news (( ))!
I agree with losing a life to welcome another, I lost my Nan a few days before giving birth to my little man.
Strange though because when she had her first stroke 13 years ago I was pregnant, the doctors didn't think she would pull through but she did and my little boy was stillborn. I truly believe she chose to go when she did and the little man will always have a guardian angel looking over him.
Sorry, didn't mean this to be a depressing post!
    Congrats on reaching 100 :)
    ((hugs))

Very true about one life leaving and another arriving ...my mum died on the day my youngest was due, he finally arrived at midnight on the eve of her funeral. I left him at the hospital whilst I attended.
Well done on reaching your 100 and love your stocking fillers in your shop..gorgeous xxx
